The Coe Residence is a unique single story residence located in the Vuecrest neighborhood of Bellevue, WA. The roof structure is large and triangular in shape and consists of tremendous cantilevers in all directions. This presented a great engineering challenge in making these cantilevers work while maintaining the relatively low roof pitch as well as keeping the roof structure cost effective. Additionally, the exterior walls were mostly windows. This required extensive coordination and creative engineering to design a wind and seismic resistance system without incurring extra costs to the project.
BTL Engineering worked closely with the builder to facilitate the construction and city inspection process during the wet, late fall months.
