When widowed single mother Roseanne Dore and her three daughters lost their home in a fire, BTL Engineering partnered with Centex Homes, Master Builders and national non-profit HomeAid America for this “Extreme Makeover – Home Edition” project in Kingston, WA. The goal: a 3200 sf home from scratch in less than a week. The family surprise and move out was scheduled for Nov 10th. Demolition and construction began on Nov 12th, with 700 volunteers working around the clock for six days straight. The keys to the new home were presented to the Dore family on Nov 17th.   Drawings for a unique six-bedroom farmhouse to be built on 2.5 acr4es on the Dore’s land that would allow its new family to run a Bed and Breakfast Inn in the forest of the Kitsap Peninsula. The initiative left the Dore Family with a home valued at approximately $500,000. The project faced logistical and weather related challenges but exceptional teamwork and building excellence helped everyone to meet the production requirements that made this project a success. Construction completed in November 2004 by Centex Homes.
